Since time immemorial Akita cedar has been a part of the tradition of Japanese handicrafts. We hope to bring the beauty of this tradition to products suited to today's global lifestyle.
「秋田杉」の名前の通り、秋田県を代表する木材であり県資源です。
この資源をより多くの方に知ってもらう事はもちろんのこと、秋田県内で使用してもらい、地域活性化につなげていきたいと考えております。
秋田県産品として、農産物、水産物と同様に秋田杉も地域生産地域消費を活発にすべきだとＡＡＲＥＡ(エリア)は考えます。
今後、様々な企業様、商品とコラボレーションし、秋田県の商品としてのイメージを拡大、定着させていきます。
As the name implies, Akita cedar originates from Akita Prefecture. With this in mind, AAREA works to promote the use of Akita cedar and assist the economic development of Akita Prefecture. We work to encourage the local production and use of Akita cedar, as well as local agricultural and sea products. In collaboration with various companies, we also hope to make Akita cedar famous not only locally, but worldwide.
ＡＡＲＥＡでは、環境に配慮した素材を使用しています。
１つは、木材を薄くスライス０．１５mm～０．２ｍｍ(ツキ板）にすることにより
一般木材板(約７ｍｍ）より、約３５倍以上の面積 を利用することができ、木材の利用効率が高くなります。
もう１つは、秋田杉の製材加工途中にどうしても、小さな割れ、傷などが出来てしまい
商品の企画サイズの面積を確保できない部分が出てしまいます。
今までは破棄されていた、極上でも使用されなかった部分を木材加工業者様の御行為により、入手することが可能になりました。
At AAREA, we strive to use environmentally responsible raw materials in production of our products. Our superfine (0.15-- 0.2 mm thin) wood veneer products can cover over 35 times the area of a standard 7mm plank, promoting efficient use of forest resources. Furthermore, our manufacturing process employs scraps and leftovers from the making of high quality lumber, allowing beautiful pieces that would have otherwise been wasted to be made into useful products for your home.
